Climate March

Members of the RVCC Faculty Federation attended the People’s Climate March on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in New York City.  Over 300,000 people marched, including labor unions, environmental activists, human rights groups, and many, many college students from all over the country. AFT NJ endorsed the march and many AFT NJ Local members attended.  RVCC faculty attended as well, and brought their students along on the march, which preceded the UN Climate Summit convened by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on September 23, 2014.  The Climate Summit was convened to encourage world leaders to address the climate emergency that confronts our planet and threatens the future of our children and grandchildren. The march organizers demanded a global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution, and to do so in a way that advances economic justice, and creates clean energy, good jobs and healthy communities.  Take a look at, and a listen to, some of the RVCC people who attended this historic event, by hitting the link below:
